Work Policy:           Hybrid working with 3/4 days onsite (travel required to other sites in the UK)
 
Salary:                     Up to £65,000

We’re working with an award-winning, world-leading, technical & scientific engineering organisation, with sites across Europe, that have an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Engineer. As a client–side Chartered Design Engineer with experience in the design and specification of mechanical services, you will act as the design authority on projects, promoting design excellence.
 
The Building Services Engineer role:
You will prepare outline briefs, and performance specifications, attend design reviews, approve technical drawings, review and approve derogations from employers’ requirements and carry out value engineering reviews of external consultants' designs.
 
You will have experience of delivering sustainable solutions that contribute to the Net Zero road map and lead on decarbonisation strategies.
 
You will assume ownership of the suite of Building Design Guides and shall be responsible for reviewing and updating periodically; ensuring that sustainable products and construction best practices are incorporated into the estate at project conception.
 
You can also use your skills to assist the wider Estates team, carrying out Pre-Acquisition Surveys, TDD (Technical Due Diligence), Condition Surveys, and Dilapidation Surveys.
 
Building Services Engineer experience required:
  • Qualified Design Engineer – Chartered/ MCIBSE status or working towards
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering design within the building services industry
  • Ability to write technical reports (RIBA 0-2, feasibility, issue investigation, condition/dilap surveys)
  • Experience creating outline briefs, scope of works and performance specifications for planned maintenance and lifecycle works packages
  • Experience working with digital engineering tools, such as CAD/Revit. You will also have experience delivering projects in a BIM environment
  • Experience with new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects
