We have an exciting opportunity for a Firmware Engineer to join an ambitious, innovative, technology & product development company who deliver solutions for the UK’s defence and homeland security. Your work will have a real-world impact. You’ll get to explore pioneering concepts by collaborating with elite multi-disciplinary teams of highly educated and skilled scientists, engineers, and designers. It’s a fantastically challenging, varied, and agile role. You’ll see ideas become a reality through the development of prototypes using a rapid approach to design and implementation.
Using FPGA technologies, you’ll get to work on DSP design, DSP modelling, high and low speed peripheral interfacing, and embedded soft processor utilisation. Implementations may be in HDL, native block designs and may use tools such as Simulink HDL Coder or even a mix of several. You will need to be able to run simulations and testbenches and perform hardware-level debugging. We use both FPGA and system-on-chip designs from all major vendors and several projects use frameworks such as OpenCPI. Wide experience is highly beneficial (but not essential) so if you can demonstrate experience of high-speed electronics design, embedded software and/or hardware development and testing, and signal processing/algorithm design; you’ll thrive in this role.
Firmware Engineer Essential Skills and Qualifications:

A strong degree in Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. Post Degree qualifications are desirable
