We have an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Cyber Security Engineer to join an ambitious, innovative, technology & product development company who provide research and development services that extend and enhance the ability of the United Kingdom and its Allies to defend themselves and to protect the future prosperity of their citizens including Cyber Security, which is crucial for the success of businesses and governments as well as national and personal safety.
The role will require deep understanding of the connections between software, hardware and how intersecting infrastructure can reveal system vulnerabilities that could be exploited to influence behaviour, extract protected information or to insert malicious programs, even if the software itself is robust. You will perform Cyber Vulnerability Investigations and design secure devices and protocols ultimately enables integrated whole system solutions.
The business has experience in developing such solutions working with leading industry and national defence partners to assess critical systems for potential vulnerabilities and contributing a novel mix of cyber defence techniques that incorporate both software and hardware solutions, which often utilise their physics-based capabilities, to go far beyond the typical “IT approach” to cyber security.

Hardware Cyber Security Engineer Essential Skills and Qualifications:
The role primarily focuses on Research into vulnerabilities found in a wide range of Systems, Software, and Hardware. As it may also include Design and Problem Solving, you should also have a deep understanding in Electronics Hardware, software architecture, sensors and/or systems and their functionality in real world applications. Experience and interest in Cyber Security is essential to be successful in this role.
You will ideally have a Post-Graduate Degree or PhD and a few years of experience in a relevant field which can include Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Physics & Mathematics.
Please note that due to the nature of the projects being delivered, in order to apply for this opportunity, you will need to hold current British citizenship and be eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance.
