Hours:                  37 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Factors Engineer to join an ambitious, highly regarded, scientific engineering / manufacturing business that are in a position of sustained growth.

As a Human Factors Engineer you will be a highly capable, versatile, and enthusiastic Engineer who will undertake a full range of Human Factors tasks across weapon system concepting, development and research activities. This presents a fantastic opportunity for someone with a real passion for Human Factors (HF) to meet the challenge of integrating HF into hi-technology projects with a diverse range of military user groups!

We believe that integration of Human Factors is critical to the development of safe, usable, and effective weapon systems. In your role as a Human Factors Engineer you will be able to directly influence the development of these technologies, engaging directly with the user from early concept through to delivery ensuring that the human-machine relationship is optimised.

Skills Required:

  • Experience of the application of Human Factors in the development of complex systems (This will include conduct of Human Factors Integration and Human Centred Design processes through the development lifecycle, analysis, and assessment of the role of the human in complex systems, physical ergonomics and integration into workspaces, User Interface prototyping and design and the conduct of user experiments and trials supporting system development)
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of the application of Human Factors Integration & Human Factors Engineering
  • Relevant Engineering or Science based Degree
  • Good understanding of Systems Engineering and disciplines who interact with Human Factors (Supportability, Training, Safety, Equipment)

You will need to obtain UK Security Clearance for this role. This will require you to either be a UK Citizen or UK Dual Citizen. Some restrictions may apply.
