Salary:                   Up to £55,000 P/A  D.O.E. + benefits (plus Overtime, Flexi and Bonus)

Hours:                   37 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Laser Systems Engineer to join an ambitious, highly regarded, scientific engineering / manufacturing business that are in a position of sustained growth.

As a Laser Systems Engineer you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to developing advanced defence systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced LDEW systems, ensuring flawless performance and reliability.

What you will be doing:

  • Initiate/undertake and drive trade studies and system development activities
  • Support functional design with requirement flow down through system/sub-system/equipment
  • Develop excellent working relationships with key partners

Skills Required: 

  • System Design Engineering
  • Initiate/undertake and drive trade studies and system development activities
  • Experience of developing complex systems (ideally in defence)
  • Ability to communicate architectures and ideas at all levels
  • Understood elaboration of user requirements with the design authorities in response to their needs and constraints
  • Ability to disseminate/share technical information to customers in an understandable manner
  • Develop excellent working relationships with key partners
  • Desire to develop, build and grow the Systems Design team and the people within it as the project develop
  • Experience of system architecting tools e.g. DOORS/DOORS NG/Rhapsody (desirable)
  • Knowledge of lasers or maritime system integration would be highly beneficial

You will need to obtain UK Security Clearance for this role.  This will require you to either be a UK Citizen or a UK Dual Citizen.  Some restrictions may apply.
