Simulation & Modelling Engineer - Bristol

Salary:                   Up to £55,000 + benefits (Bonus, Overtime, Pension & more)

Hours:                   37 hours per week         

We currently have an exciting opportunity for talented Engineers / Physicists / Mathematicians with a keen interest in modelling dynamic complex systems to build their career as a Simulation & Modelling Engineer with a world class technical engineering company based in Bristol.

The work within the team is varied and, depending on project and experience, may involve:

  • Developing component models
  • Integrating models/components that are external to the team and/or company
  • Developing a modelling framework/environment to be leveraged by many projects across the business
  • You will perform technical analyses and investigations into a full range of issues and problems and prepare and develop solutions either individually or as part of a team.
  • You will be expected to engage with the model users, understand and respond to their needs and ensure that the model is fit for its intended use.
  • Participating in peer review of work across the team
  • On the job training will be provided.

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, we are currently unable to guarantee remote working opportunities. Compliance and adherence to process is an essential part of our work, therefore you should be willing to work in a controlled modelling environment. A number of positions are currently available at a range of levels depending on experience.

Skills and qualifications required from the following:

  • A Degree or Masters in an Engineering, Mathematics or Science related subject.
  • Programming experience or an eagerness to learn
  • Forward thinking, planning, and critical thinking
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Curious and adaptable

Desirable

  • Experience of programming in MATLAB and Simulink
  • Experience with configuration control
  • Experience of working within a system-of-systems framework
  • Experience of working with external model suppliers
  • An understanding of modelling and software development processes

You should be able and willing to gain (UK Eyes only) security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future.
